For father's day a couple years ago, my mom and I bought Dad a trail camera. Over the past few years we have seen a set of triplets (one is super ugly/cute with a white mask around his eyes), we have seen many doe and some spike horns and a good looking 4-pointer. It is always exciting to see what is roaming around our 'spot'. This year, we have seen flocks of turkeys and a small 4 pointer with velvet still on his antlers. But over the past couple of weeks, something amazing showed up... there were 5 pictures that seemed like he was posing for the camera. 10 points, good and healthy. Dad and I are a little too excited because this buck has to stay near by our hunting ground through Oct and be where we are on opening day (please). Ideally, we will have one hell of a deer to bring home on Oct 29th = ) We know he is out there... we just need to wait and find him. 62 days
Reason number 3,657,935 why my Dad is the best: As we were snowmobiling, we approached a bog and three eagles with about 20 crows took off. It could only mean one thing in my book - something was dead. We circled back and walked around in the snow but the birds had left and we couldnt find anything that would resemble a meal. A part of me thinks that we were in the wrong piece of land and should have been on the other side of the bog but in our snowmobile gear, we were not going to cover a lot of ground. I was disappointed that we couldn't find what the birds were eating but I was able to get some good pictures of one of the mature eagles and the immature eagle that were flying around.
